A new record

Not that anyone really cares about this except me and my ego, but October was the busiest month ever for I Love Beer. The blog received 5,022 visits that month (barely topping the 5,012 of January) and 7,279 individual page views, just four more than January.

Don't forget to add in those of us who read you through your RSS feed! My views don't count as hits on your site, but you can find out how many people subscribe to the blog through services like Feedburner.

Keep up the good work! We need to have a drink sometime...

I'm not sure about that. I notice hits coming from Google blog reader, but then, Blogger is owned by Google, so maybe that accounts for that.

Thanks to you for the plug on your austin360 blog! I've noticed quite a few hits coming via you.

As for the drink, I'm pretty certain I'll be at NXNW for cask night on the 29th. I might look a little different from my profile pic – I recently switched from wire rims to sort of Clark Kent-looking glasses.

Hey, Lee! I'm going to be out of town on the 29th :(, but I'm sure there will be an event in the New Year we'll both be at. I'm also hosting an Appetizers with Addie event in February at the Shiner brewery...

As for the hits, I think some people, such as myself, will occasionally click on the entry in the RSS reader, which goes to your site and thus is the referring site. But who knows with all this crazy technology.

Look forward to meeting you! FYI, we're having a food blogger happy hour at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 15 at Lambert's if you're interested.

You are WAY more popular than a beer sort of blog. :)

Post a pic of a pregnant chick drinking beer. That'll boost your hits WAY up.

This really is something to be proud of. I know I would be.

Enjoy the props, and keep up the great work. I will help push you to 6000.

Hey Lee,

Congratulations! On another topic, have you tried the Boulevard Nutcracker Ale? I think it is really good, my favorite Holiday ale out there.

Anonymous: You must be a new reader, and missed my umpteen million posts raving about how much I love Boulevard (my wife is from Kansas City). Yep, I love Nutcracker. But thanks for the tip.

And thankfully, Boulevard now distributes down here to Austin.
