Oh dear …

From the journal that my daughter writes for her second-grade class (which means that her teacher has read it):

"This weekend I saw Bee movie. This bee said are we bees? or are we a keychain? bees! Keychain! My dad saw Texas beat Texas Tech! he drank seven beers that day! I also defeated the Underminer. The giant corrupterater fell over. Ahhh! Underminer! Blah!"

Hmm. Perhaps I need to be a bit more subtle in my beer consumption.

Too funny.

First step to being "subtle" about beer consumption: Have a blog called I Love Beer.

That is funny. The kids in my daughter's 4-year-old pre-school were asked to say something about their dads. My daughter said "My dad drinks beer." That didn't go over too well with my wife.

When the little one was around one and we were on the way to Brett's B-day in Marble Falls, as we passed the Shiner billboard at the "Y" in Oak Hill, she pointed to it and said, "Da Da Wa Wa".

Pod, when I read her journal I immediately thought of your T-shirt: "Daddy Drinks Because You Cry"

Well, with those bona fides you are clearly the expert for the question I'm about to pose. Good friends of ours went and got themselves hitched this weekend. Being avid beer drinkers, I thought they would enjoy a Beer of the Month membership as a wedding gift. Any recommendations for a good BOTM club? Erin

I hate to let you down, Erin, but I've never tried a BOTM club. I suppose if I lived someplace less civilized I might give it a shot, but our beer stores in Austin are so good that I have access to a huge variety of beers already. Perhaps one of my readers out there does. I'll make a post about that and see what kind of response it gets.
