A place for the unrepentant beer snob.
While 100 is really, really great, 97 (Black Lager) is just too kick ass. I think that I almost cried when I found out they were bringing it back full time. Since its return, I don't think a week has passed that it hasn't been in my house. Oh, and it's good to see the photos from my back porch spreading across the net. Sorry that isn't a cleaner photo. I really wish I had kept the 96, 97, and 98 bottles rather than drinking them.
So you're responsible for that graphic! Good job!Funny, the black was my least favorite (which isn't to say I didn't like it; I just liked it the least), but that's the only one they've made permanent.
Of the ones I've had: Black Lager is my favorite.
Please. It's between 99 and 100 for me.
100 is my fave (followed closely by 98) but also the least accurate as per the intended style. Everything else has been fairly close to style except the D-bock.
It's too bad 96 came out so long ago. I think it was a decent brew, but it's been so long that no one really remembers what it tasted like.I'd really like to see Shiner release all the beers in a collection.
"Oh, and it's good to see the photos from my back porch spreading across the net."Wrong. That photo is of my front porch railing. The wife wants me to get those off of there, but I kind of like the look.(voted for 97)
Shiner Black in my opinion is one of the finest Beers on the market. I really don't know how they will top that one.
