Somehow, my friends never seem to have too much trouble sniffing out where to find good beer when they travel, but maybe the rest of you aren't raging drunks who have beer-sensing radar like they do. So here's something to help you track down where to drink after your plane touches down: The Beer Mapping Project. I just discovered it about five minutes ago, so I haven't really had a chance to test it out yet (and I really need to get to work), but I'll give it a spin soon. Unfortunately, they don't have a Kansas City map, which is where I'll be spending the holidays. Maybe all you KC beer bloggers could get to work creating one?
The Austin map, which I took a quick glance at, seems pretty well taken care of, but Jeffrey, I noticed the Fredericksburg Brewery isn't on there.

we started on a map but got bored and haven't added much lately. it's still pretty relevant though.

It's a pretty cool tool for finding beer. When they started a few years ago it only have a few cities. They have expanded quite a bit now. I'm sure they will have a Kansas City map by itself someday. Go to the US Brewery Maps >North Central Region > Zoom in on the KC area to get a decent beer map for KC.
Have fun.
Cheers.
Jeff, nice job on that map, but I hope you'll keep adding. I notice you have almost nothing for North KC, which is where I spend a lot of time when I visit there twice a year. Zona Rosa has a couple of decent places: Granity City Brewpub and some Irish-themed place the name of which I can't remember. Plus a Paddy O'Quigly's (I think) in a strip mall in Parkville, which isn't much on atmosphere but has a good beer selection.
Hey! Another beer blogger is coming to town! Dammit. Too bad I am going to Mexico. Sigh.
I am still down for a meet, and I stay up LATE, so I'd be ok with that.

Wait, did you really just say "too bad I am going to Mexico"? Yeah, that's gonna suck to leave KC in the winter and head down to those horrible 80-degree days in Mexico.
But yes, let's definitely try to work out a meeting.
I found it on the maps.
I hope you had a good time in KC.
Happy trails,
Bad Ben
