If you haven't yet gone out and grabbed your six-pack of Saint Arnold's Divine Reserve No.9 … why the hell not?!? (If you don't know what DR9 is, see the previous post.)
Seriously, if you're in Texas, get off your damn computer/phone/whatever and run to the nearest quality beer store now and ask for it. (It likely won't actually be out on the shelves.) A perusal of Twitter (search for "#DR9") reveals that beer freaks are scurrying around the state like crazy trying to find it. Panic is starting to set in among those who can't.
It's worth the effort. I'm sampling one over lunch right now, and this might be the best pumpkin beer I've ever had. Yes, even better than Dogfish Head's Punkin. It's glorious. What a great idea to mix an imperial stout with pumpkin. The richness of the stout complements the sweetness of the pumpkin to perfection. I'm hoping this beer never ends. I guess I'd better start saying a prayer to the real Saint Arnold if I want that to happen.

Got two over my lunch break. Can't wait to try it.
Got mine at lunch today. thanks for the reminder! Specs on Airport still had some at lunch.
They reappeared at Whole Foods this week--I though they had sold out in September. They actually have them out on display. Several cases.
DR9 won't be coming to Fredericksburg, even if I got my beer store to ask for it. Our Saint Arnold distributor would probably laugh in our faces were we to ask. Distributors care so much about the consumer, don't they?
@Marshall: September's was DR8 - so this isn't a reappearance.
Marshall: Yes, what Dennis said. Each Divine Reserve is different, this is No.9 in the series. That no.8 to which you refer was a barleywine; no.9 is a pumpkin imperial stout.
In a totally unrelated note, I just got this youtube video from the guys at Shiner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1zbLwCn7bY
At the end they show a bottle with Shiner 101 written on it - a google search of "Shiner 101" was fruitless, but wanted to see if there were any rumors floating around about an upcoming Shiner 101 - if not, then let me be this youtube video start one!
Managed to pick up six 6-packs at the local Central Market, which I plan on taking most to the office Christmas party next week. Most of those sissies are Bud Light drinkers, so DB9's 11%ABV will rock their socks off.
War Horse, if you try to push DR9 on some Bud Light drinkers, you're going to be wasting your money and throwing away good beer on folks who won't appreciate it. Save them for yourself. Or take some to Jeffrey out in Fredericksburg.
I'm only going to let them sample it. Take a few bottles and then split it among all the people. You're right, giving a BL drinker a full bottle of this would be a waste. In the off chance that someone does like it, they'll be more than welcome to a full bottle. :)
