Hop Crisis Over

The worldwide hop shortage, which had microbrewers crying in their beer last year, has apparently ended, say Southwest Brewing News. According an article in its February/March issue, American crops were better this year and Germany had a very good crop.

I'd love to post a link to the article, but apparently SWBN doesn't put their articles online. (Seriously, guys – get with the times.) Pick up a copy at your local fine beer establishment and read all about it.

It's good to hear things finally straightened out. Hopefully hop prices will fall back down to normal levels, and the brewers' profits will go back up. Maybe it's just the beers I drink, but I never saw a price increase at the counter because of it.

Somehow I don't see them lower the price to pre-crisis levels

Agreed. Unlike fuel, this won't comeback down. I noticed one brewery that still has old articles pertaining to hop prices on its website (http://www.liveoakbrewing.com/events/). They push the news that is convenient to them.
